In addition, we carry the following coverage:
WCB Coverage
If the business you hire is not registered or not making its payments to the WCB, you could be liable for insurance premiums owing in connection with the work or service being performed on your behalf. You could also be liable for any damages resulting from work-related injuries on your site, regardless of the private home insurance you might have. Always obtain a letter of clearance prior to commencement of work.
How to obtain clearance letters:
Search the clearance status of any firm registered with the WCB and then print a clearance letter right off the internet. The letter tells you whether the business, contractor, or subcontractor you plan to hire is registered with the WCB and paying regular premiums.
To check a firm's clearance status choose from the following options:
- Online:
- http://worksafebc.com then go to obtain a clearance letter, and fill in the related fields and print.
- *Remember that it doesn't matter if it is a commercial or residential job, anyone working on your premises without WCB coverage is now your responsibility and YOU are liable.
